Eating out essays THE HARD ROCK CAFÉ is a restaurant located near the design district in Dallas, Texas. Few other restaurants surround this one of a kind eatery, making it a great choice for lunch for those who work nearby. Before entering this restaurant, one must ascend a flight of stairs which leads up to an outdoor eating area. On a nice day when this area is full, it can give others a chance to peak at a full table of food and get an idea of what they want to eat. Upon entering the building from outside, the bar, in the shape of an electric guitar, is directly to the left, allowing customers who are in a hurry to pull up a seat and get busy ordering. At this point of entry is where the host welcomes everyone to the restaurant. A lowered dining level conceals the entrance from the guests and allows them to enjoy their environment more readily. A stage is placed at the back of the facility for display. The use of carpet softens that area and invites patrons to take pictures with Elvis. Fluted columns behind the stage add a classical look to the room. The main dining area is dimly lit and the light wood floors makes it easy to move seating around without showing to much damage from the chair and table legs. The use of hard wood floors in this area makes it easier for the staff to keep the restaurant clean. The dark wood tables stand out in the restaurant against the lighter wood used on the floor. The dome situated two levels above the main dining area is painted with clouds and gives the feelings of being outdoors. This could resemble an oculus that allows light in during the day. A second level balcony allows one to eat while enjoying the concert below. JOES CRAB SHACK is a restaurant geared toward the entertainment of people; much like the Hard Rock Caf. Marrying and adopting outsiders was customary to some Indian traditions and with the rise of neighbors that were not Indian, the natives sought to intermarry due to population losses. The story of Mary Jemison reflects that mixing of cultures and the affinity that can develop to the Native way of life. She was taken captive by the Indians at fifteen years old then adopted into a loving Indian family. As the years went by she adapted and grew to love her Indian family and friends. She married an Indian and considered herself one of them. Mary Jemison was one of many captives who eventually refused the opportunity to come home, finding life in Indian society more rewarding. New weapons that changed the way of the samurai A Samurai Sword symbolizes and means the Samurai's prestige and his skills in battle. It is a measure of his stature in society. To all samurai it’s their prize possession and it is worn proudly by its master – until the teppo was introduced. The samurai considered it as dishonorable to tradition. This changed the way samurai fight and changed their view to samurai swords. The teppo is an example of a weapon that changed the way of samurai – it was introduced in the 16 century in Japan through Portuguese trade.They were easy to use and deadly. The teppo were produced on a large scale by Japanese gunsmiths since introduced. By the end of the 16th century, there were more firearms any European nation. Oda Nobunaga made deadly use of the teppo at the Battle of Nagashino in 1575, leading to the end of the famous Takeda clan. Guns can wipe out a whole clan in just one battle. It was considered very deadly.In the movie ‘The Last Samurai’ it strongly relates to the concept of guns taking over traditional samurai swords and guns destroying loyal samurai clans. The film's plot is loosely based on the 1877 Satsuma Rebellion led by Saigo Takamori, and also on the story of Jules Brunet, a French army captain who fought alongside Enomoto Takeaki in the Boshin War.
